Dwaine E. Ringler, 87, of Ashland, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Good Shepherd Home & Villa.
Dwaine was born February 21, 1929 in Holsopple, Pennsylvania to Earl and Suzanna {Stevenson} Ringler.
He served in the United States Coast Guard from February 1946 to February 1948. Dwaine received an honorable service button, honorable discharge button and WWII victory medal.
He married Yvonne (Kocher) on January 16, 1965.
Dwaine was employed in Alaska with the Labors Local 341, homesteaded 160 acres of land in Alaska. He was a member of the Ashland Christian Church, was an avid horseshoe pitcher, liked to play shuffle board at the park, and enjoyed camping. Dwaine also enjoyed every day driving.
Dwaine will be deeply missed by his wife Yvonne of 51 years; children Margie ( John) Emery of Plain City and Darren Ringler of New York; grandchildren Joshua, Samantha, Diana, and Beth Emery of Plain City, Mathew and Emily Ringler of New York; brother Dennis Ringler of Oregon; sisters Deloris Smith of West Virginia, Nancy Lasick, and Suzanna Santo.
Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. .
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Myers officiating.
