Earl P. Dupre, 88, of Georgetown, died Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Ohio Veterans Home, in Georgetown.
Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Alan Nathan officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
Earl was born September 29, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio to Carl and Ann {Mclaughin} Dupre.
He attended Woodville grade school and Johnny Appleseed Jr. High before graduating from Mansfield Senior High in 1949. He then graduated from Ohio University in 1959. Earl then served in the US Army for two years at Fort Bliss, Texas and retired after 29 years in the Army Reserves where he reached the rank of Col. Earl worked as an Industrial Engineer with Faultless Rubber in Ashland, Borg Warner, Artesian in Mansfield, Gerber Plumbing Products in Yokomo, IN, Semic Industries in Millersburg and Wal-Mart in Wooster. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wooster Elks and the American Legion.
Earl will be deeply missed by daughter Beth Kruer of Edgewood, KY; grandchildren Joshua, Courtney, Lindsey and Carly Kruer; and brothers Ron and David Dupre.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents.
