Edgar Francis Koller, 94, of Wooster, Ohio, passed on January 31, 2019.
Edgar was born to Francis Xavier Koller and Dorothy Park Koller on January 28, 1925, in Akron, Ohio. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on December 3, 1938, and was in the landing of Utah in 1944. After that time, he commissioned into the Army Reserves and attended, and graduated from, Kent State in Kent, Ohio. He eventually retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel on September 9, 1977. Edgar was preceded in death by his two children, James Koller and Holly Koller-Snively.
He leaves as his legacy two grandsons: Cody Russell Koller and Dylan Joseph Edgar (Flora) Koller. He also was expecting his first great-grandchild, to be born to Dylan Koller and Flora Koller. Finally, he leaves to cherish his memory his beloved companion, Marilyn Tanner.
Edgar was an accomplished marksman, winning the Grand American Senior Shooting Competition in 1999. He was passionate about his family and his friends, and he always knew people wherever he went. After he retired from Motch & Eichele, he maintained a daily breakfast ritual with his close friends. Always the hard worker, he then worked for, and retired from, Scot Industries.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at St. James Episcopal Church. Services will also be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at 11:00 am at St. James Episcopal Church in Wooster, Ohio with Rev. Evan Fischer officiating along with his inurnment.
