Our Dear Edna Mae met her maker at home in her favorite rocking chair this past Saturday November 2. She was a robust 88!
Born to Jim and Arrvilla Phillips on July 4th, 1936, she was the eldest of 15 siblings.
After a somewhat bumpy childhood, she married Robert Satmary and proceeded to live a very rich, productive and eventful life. She definitely passed away a happy camper.
Edna had four children, enjoyed being a mom and homemaker, received her G.E.D, became a foreman at General Motors and then drove a school bus for many years before retiring. She embraced it all.
As a mother she took personal interest in and encouraged her kids to persue whatever their interests may be. We (her children) were spoiled rotten!
Mom was no slouch and was always busy doing something (everything!) bingo, bowling, crafting, cooking and always driving somewhere! She loved driving the most I think, here, there, to visit friends, towns, festivals and family most of all. Always on the go, go, go!
One of her proudest achievements was successfully searching for and locating her sibilings who were lost to the system when her family was broken apart at the age of 14. That made for some great family reunions, and she loved family reunions.
Edna made everyone she met smile. She was an incredibly good, moral, sincere and generous woman. All of us will miss her greatly.
Mom is survived by 3 of her children Bobby, Jeff and Phyllis; Grandchildren Daniel, Sherri, Alexa, Joel Jr. and Phillip; great grandchildren Brock, Annabelle, Owen, Gabriel, Jude, Luke and Hazel; sisters Betty, Donna, Linda, Dorothy and her brother Donald.
In heaven she joined her son Gary; parents Jim and Arvilla; sisters Mary Lou, Nancy, Arlene; brothers Ronnie, Jim, Kennie, Roy, John and her boyfriend Gene.
