Edwin Steiner

Edwin J. Steiner, 90, of Panama City Beach, FL, died Wednesday, May 22, 2024, with his family by his side.

Ed was born November 17, 1933, in Wooster to Edwin L. and Lulu {Vance} Steiner. He graduated from Smithville High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He married Barbara Childs on May 11, 2002. She survives.  

Ed worked for Rubbermaid in Wooster for 28 years in the shipping and receiving department, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church and enjoyed playing softball. Ed loved his dogs.

Ed will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara; children Chriss (Della) Steiner of Wooster and Candice (Scott) Wile of Shreve; step-daughter Tracy (Richard) Bowles of Valley City, OH, step-son Scott (Tanya) Childs of Panama City Beach, FL, many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Ron (Ruth) Steiner, and sisters-in-law Martha and Sharon Steiner.

Ed was preceded in death by his son Curtis Steiner and brothers Charles, Paul, and Don Steiner. 

Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.  Services will be Friday at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Fetter officiating.   Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.   Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
