Eleanor Jean Evans, 87, of Marietta, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Heartland of Marietta.
Jean was born January 13, 1929 in Moss Run, Ohio to John and Fannie {King} Hendershot.
She married Willis Evans on December 27, 1947.
Jean worked as a Nurse's Aide at Marietta Memorial for 4 years. She was a long time member of Trinity Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing and reading.
Jean will be deeply missed by her daughters Donna (Larry) Buchanan of Lower Salem, and Teresa (Erick) Biehl of Yorktown, VA; grandchildren Jason (Sabrina) Buchanan of Lower Salem, Rachel Biehl of Newport News, VA, Melissa (Chris Manno) Biehl of Norfolk, VA, Amanda (Kevin) Pettit-Pokora of Allen Park, MI; great-grandchildren Kyndayl, KyLynn, Xavier, Aidan, Violet, Jackson and Marie.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Willis and her siblings Dale Hendershot, Leah Anderson, Helen Smith, Ruth Neader, Irene Williams, Clara Rankin and David Hendershot.
Friends may call Tuesday, August 23rd from 6 to 8 PM at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Lou Verdi officiating. The family will receive friends for 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
