Elizabeth "Betty" Greinig

November 13, 1931 — April 16, 2020

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Greinig, 88, of Wooster, died Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Providence Care Center, in Sandusky.

Private services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Kristen Patt officiating.  Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.   Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.

Betty was born November 13, 1931 in Milan Township to Karl G. and Emile F. {Schweikert} Greinig.

Betty attended Milan Elementary School in Ohio before moving to Valley City.  She graduated from Liverpool High School in Medina County in 1949 and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Elementary Education.  Betty began her teaching career in Medina County at Liverpool School and then taught elementary education at Wooster City Schools.  She retired from Wooster City Schools in 1988 after 30 years of teaching.  After retiring, Betty tutored reading to adults, and traveled extensively to other countries.  Betty was active in the Wayne County Historical Society, Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Society, Crossroad Methodist Church, and member of Retired Teachers Association.

Betty will be deeply missed by her first cousins James (Margaret) Heckelman of Norwalk, Dr. Arthur (Marilyn) Ammann of San Rafael, CA.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, first cousin Carl Heckelman, and numerous cousins and relatives in Germany.

The family would like to thank the staff and administration at Providence Care Center for all of their excellent care of Betty during her stay, especially Shirl Felder.
