Elva Leyda, 82, of Big Prairie, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
Private services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Jean Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
Elva was born January 2, 1938 in Marshallville to Ervin and Alta {Moser} Redinger.
She married Eugene “Gene” Leyda on December 12,1953. He survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Ripley Garden Club. Elva enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to Hawaii, Virginia Beach, and Alaska. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She loved life, spending time with family and she loved to laugh.
Elva will be deeply missed by her husband, Gene; children Peggy Perez of Diamond, OH, Robert (Gloria) Leyda of Kingston Springs, TN, Steve (Rhojeana) Leyda of Big Prairie, and Denise (Jon) Dorman of Pandora, OH; grandchildren Phillip, Bobby Jr., Christina, Brandon, Travis, Emilie, Liam, Brennan, Claire, and Declan; great-grandchildren Shelbie, Mason, Colton, Logan, Clayton, Paislee, and Easton; brother Richard Redinger, sisters Arline Gordon, Maxine Botkin, Delpha Haws, Alta Bucher, Marlene Hinton, Judy Repp, and Sherrie Woodruff.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don Redinger, sister Pauline Blankenship and an infant sibling.
