Elwood "Buzz" Tanner, 71, of Mansfield, formerly of Orrville, died Wednesday, October 12, at Med Central in Mansfield.
Friends may call Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am the Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 11:30 am at funeral home with Pastor Jerry Hackworth officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice at 1020 Cricket Lane, Mansfield, OH 44906.
Buzz was born July 16, 1945 in Clay County, WV to Seldon and Starling {Mollohan} Tanner. He was raised by Clara Tanner.
He married Norma Resecker on December 16, 1981. She survives
Buzz worked for 31 years at Technocast, Inc. in Orrville retiring in 1997. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Buzz will be deeply missed by his wife Norma; step-children Cynthia Cyrus of Crestline and Matthew (Terri) Cyrus of Chippewa Lake; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Lynn (Laura) Tanner of West Virginia, James Tanner of Gassway, WV; sisters Eloise (John) Bullard of Chloe, WV and Susie Vaughn of Wadsworth.
Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, step-son John D. Cyrus, twin sisters Eula and Beulah Tanner, brother Woodrow Tanner and half brother Joe Sears.
