Emery E. Russell Jr., 89, of Polk, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Crystal Care of Ashland.
Emery was born July 5, 1928 in Wheeling, WV to Emery Everett Sr. and Amy Belle {Hart} Russell.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War, then married Jane Rosella Bates in 1965. She died in 1987.
Emery worked for Stone and Thomas for 24 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Methodist Church in West Virginia and the American Legion.
Survivors include, step-children Robert Dentz and Charles Fair both of California; brother Dick Russell of Virginia Beach; numerous nieces and nephews, especially Rosella Rose of Polk.
Emery was preceded in death by a special friend Miriam Bates.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr, Ashland, OH 44805.
