Emma Jean Fath, 90, of Smithville, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Rittman with Pastor Mike LaMar officiating. Emma’s body has been donated to the Ohio University Osteopathic Medical Center. Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Emma was born April 7, 1927 in Warsaw, Ohio to Charles Wilmer and Nina {Downes} Taylor.
Emma was a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield Missouri.
She married Rev. Hillis I. Fath on February 26, 1944, in Greenup, Kentucky. He died on March 15, 2001.
She retired from the College of Wooster after 33 years. Emma was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she devoted much of her time.
Emma will be deeply missed by her daughter Wilma (Eugene) DeGasperis of Canton; son-in-law Arland D. Myers; daughter-in-law Marcia R. Fath; grandchildren Jerry and Randy Myers, Michelle Williams, Robert III, David (Amy) and Keith Fath, Krista, Jason, Debby Lasche; great-grandchildren Jeff Wein, Cindy (Cody) Patton, Amy (Jeff) Stanley, Richard James Fishel, Hayleigh, Hunter, Lori, Xander, Landon, Layla, Lyric Willow, Jasmine, Savanna, Shayla, Nathan, Sara, Olivia, Tony, Tyler, Taylor, Tony, Mike, and Ashley; great great-grandsons Oliver Patton and Carter Dale Stanley; sister Betty Lou Green of Lake City, Florida
Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, children Linda Myers and Robert Fath Sr., three brothers, six sisters, and grandsons Robert Myers and Richard Williams.
