Ernest Foltz

Ernest Foltz, 90, of West Salem, died Sunday, August 4, 2024 at West View Healthy Living, in Wooster.

Ernie was born March 3, 1934 in Shreve to Wayne DeHaven and Lyda Jeanette {Renner} Foltz.

He married June Shriver on May 6, 1956. She survives.

Ernie worked for Akron Brass for 39 years, retiring in 1994. He also worked on his family farm. Ernie enjoyed purchasing and fixing all types of farm equipment and enjoyed going to auctions. He and the family traveled to every state in the nation, except Hawaii. 

Ernie will be deeply missed by his wife, June; children Dennis Foltz of West Salem and daughter Tammy (Thomas) Hunter of Marshallville; grandchildren Molly (David) Zacour of Wooster and Matthew (Marcy) Hunter of Doylestown; great-grandchildren Catherine, Nathaniel and William Zacour. Ernie was preceded in death by his twin sons Bruce and Brian, siblings Richard and Russell Foltz, Carolyn Shutway, and Mary Jane Young.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Ernest-Foltz) with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.
