Ernest E. Kelly, 74, of Ashland, died Monday, October 21, 2013 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, in Ashland.
Ernest was born April 3, 1939 in Lafayette to Julius and Ruth {Norris} Kelly.
He served in the US Army as a truck driver.
He married Sherry (Jenkins) on June 12, 1965.
He was self employed as a painter, then later worked for Premium Building Products in West Salem. Ernest was a member of First Church of God 301 E. Liberty Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805. He loved to tinker on anything he could get his hands on, and enjoyed singing gospel at rest homes.
Ernest will be deeply missed by his wife Sherry; children Lorie Farver of Ashland, Leanne Kelly of Detroit, MI, Rusty Kelly of Ashland; step-children Kim (Richard) Weber of Ashland, Scott (Deb) Ransdorf of PA; 6 grandchildren; sister Ruth Parker of ID.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Hackett, daughter Brenda Lee Kelly, brother William Kelly, sister Bessie Weber.
Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland is handling the arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Church of God with Pastor Douglas Magers. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio and First Church of God.
