Esther Lanelle Athey

Esther L. Athey, 74, of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2024 at her home. Esther was born April 12, 1950 in Cannonsburg, PA to Francis and Reba {Hollins} Bowman.

Esther received her Bachelors Degree in History and Political Science from Marietta College. She married Daniel Athey on December 18, 1971. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed gardening, walking, and friends. 

Esther leaves behind her two children and two grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Angie (Robert) Mann of Texas, Ramona (Robert) Beebe of Marietta and Twyla (Ron) Jenkins of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Athey.
