Esther Marie Sommers, 81, of Ashland, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Grant Medical Center, in Columbus.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor John Bouquet officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Esther was born June 8, 1933 in Ashland to Glenn and Iva {Johnson} Benner.
She married John R. Sommers on August 5, 1957.
Esther worked at Ash land Rubber Co. for five years and then at Perkins Restaurant for over 20 years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Savannah. Esther loved spending time with her family and was always by her husband's side.
Esther will be deeply missed by her husband, John, of 57 years; children Robert Sommers; grandchildren Michael (Kayla) Hetrick, Joshua Sommers and Julie Sommers; great-granddaughter Jocelyn Hetrick.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents and step-father.
