Ethel Goddard, 92, of Marietta, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Harmar Place, in Marietta.
She was born June 11, 1924 in Bells Run, Ohio to John and Ophelia {Pritchett} Hoff.
Ethel began her career as a Switchboard Operator for Ohio Bell before moving into their sales department. She was very active with the CWA Union District 4 and was a lifetime member of the AT&T Pioneers.
She married B. Dickson on June 10, 1955.
She was known for her great cooking, especially her pies. Ethel often prepared meals and took them to family and friends. She was an avid gardener and canner and took pride in her roses.
Ethel will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Kirsten and Eleana Goddard and their mother Misty Goddard, and several nieces and nephews.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband B. Dickson Goddard, her son Bert Goddard, sisters Okla, Delila, Lucy, Ruby and Jenny; brothers Fred, Raymond, Donald, Harry and Noble.
Funeral services will be Monday at 3 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta 45750 with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Marietta Youth Group in honor of Kirsten and Eleana.
