Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn Johnson, 87, of Wooster, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at her residence.

Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting the family. Services will be Monday, December, 28 at 12 pm on Facebook Live with Pastor Bob Fetterhoff officiating. Evelyn was born August 10, 1933 in Shelby, Ohio to Donald and Mildred {Patterson} Vnasdale.

She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1951 and then Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1955.

She married George Johnson on June 11, 1955.

Evelyn worked as a nurse at the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw, IN. Then in 1960 she and her husband moved to Brazil to serve as Missionaries for the Grace Brethren International Missions. She was a member of Grace Church. Evelyn enjoyed stamp collecting with the Wooster Stamp Club, participating in the Red Hat Society and working in the nursery at Grace Church.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by her husband; children James Kevin (Ruth Lobato) Johnson of IN, Marilyn Johnson of FL, Nathan Johnson of Wooster; grandchildren Charles (Emily) Johnson, Stephanie (Dalen) Wuest, Kevin Johnson; brother Lester (Ruth) Vnasdale; sisters Marilyn (Charles) Orlando, Rebecca Vnasdale; and several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Katherine, brother Richard (Mary) Vnasdale.
