Evelyn Marie Kasacavage, 86, of Wadsworth, died Friday, September 19, 2014 at her residence.
Evelyn was born April 19, 1928 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Albert and Carrie {Gould} Beal.
She graduated from Sharon Center High School in 1946. She joined the US Air Force in 1951, and became a teletype mechanic.
She married Peter Kasacavage on April 16, 1952.
She worked various jobs in Wadsworth. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she helped to start the Helping Hands program. She enjoyed golfing, bingo, and dominos. She was active in a book club and the historical society. She loved to socialize with people and to make people smile. Evelyn had a zest for life, always looking for the positive, and finding a reason to laugh. She was a great friend to many and an amazing grandmother.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her sister Kathleen Varney; daughter Rebecca (Denzil) Hines of Wadsworth; grandchildren Jessica (James) Boyer, Jennifer (Virgil) Holbrook, Mandy Jo Hines, Daniel Joseph "DJ" Hines, Peter (Becca) Blackstone; 9 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Richard, daughter Kary Jo, brother Larry.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 with Pastor Dan Cammarn officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
