Evelyn L. Martin, 90, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Evelyn was born November 17, 1926 in Polk to A. Ralph and Ilene {Keefer} Chacey.
She was the first of her family to graduate in 1946 from Polk High School.
Evenlyn married Vernon Lyle Martin on January 1, 1947. He died on July 5, 2003.
She retired from Lance (Archway Cookies) after 37 years. Evelyn was a member of Shenandoah Christian Church. She enjoyed playing Skip-O and anyone that visited her would have to play a game.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her children Lucille (Roy) Cooper of Rittman, Edna Windsor of Greenwich and Lyle (Barbara) Martin of Ashland; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother Alvin (Shirley) Chacey of Adario; sisters Ruth Friend of Ashland and Martha (Conrad) Gess of Polk; sister-in-law Elsie Chacey of Polk.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, grandson Roy Cooper Jr., granddaughter Marina Milligan, great-granddaughter Kaylynn Milligan, son-in-law Gary Windsor, brothers John, Russell and Ralph Jr. Chacey, sisters Mae and Eldora Chacey and a sister-in-law Opal Chacey.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Oswalt officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr, Ashland, OH 44805.
