Evelyn L. Rudy, 89, formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, January 09, 2013 at Conard House Assisted Living, in Mansfield.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 pm at Millbrook Sunday School in Millbrook. Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Evelyn was born October 10, 1923 in Foraker, Ohio to Paul and Leah {Klingler} Baker.
She married Russell Rudy on November 16, 1948. He died in 1989. She received her Managing Cosmetologist license in 1942 and managed beauty salons for 8 years, then was self-employed until her retirement at age 70. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, collecting quilts, canning foods, and spending time in her garden.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her daughters Vicki (Daniel) Stallard of Shreve and Nancy Smith of Wooster; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter; brothers Donald (Faye) Baker and Raymond (Margaret) Baker; sisters Marian Sherry and Marie (Robert) Houghton; sisters-in-law Jean Baker and Lou Geib.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Leah, husband of 42 years Russell, brothers Richard and Robert Baker and sisters Emmabelle Acker and Joanne Baker.
