Evelyn Helen Whitehead, 90, of Ashland, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Samaritan Regional Hospital.
Evelyn was born July 13, 1922 in Ashland to Creighton and Myrtle (Stonerock) Harrison. On November 28, 1938 she married Wilbur "Whitey" Whitehead, who preceded her in death in 2007.
She worked at Ashland Rubber for 25 years, she was a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, a member of the VFW Auxillary, an avid NASCAR fan, and loved playing cards and bingo.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her children, Jerry (Bonnie) Whitehead of Mansfield, Terry Whitehead of Ashland, Sharon (Brad) Livingston of Michigan, and Beverly Buxton of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Joan (David) Benner of Ashland; sister in law, Jeanette Keefer, and her hair dresser, Evelyn Stephon.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Kendel and Marian Denslow; brothers, Starling Harrison and Ronald Harrison Sr.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 12 noon at Roberts Funeral Home – Ashland Chapel, with Rev. Bill Shaffer officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
