F. Eileen Thompson, (better known as Grama Thom) passed away November 6, 2012 at Elmcroft of Ontario Assisted Living Community.
She was born April 11, 1921 in Mount Vernon to Frank and Ida Simpkins. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and received her Undergraduate Degree from Ashland College. She received her Masters Degree from The College of William and Mary in Richmond, Virginia and had completed several hours towards her Doctorate Degree. She was a teacher in the Madison School system for 32 years. She taught at East Mansfield, Wooster Heights and her last 17 years at Madison Jr. High before retiring. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Suzanne Circle, in which she held many offices during her membership.
Eileen will be deeply missed by her daughters and son-in-laws, Sarah and Tom Sauvageot and Pat and Randy Herrick; her grandchildren, Heather (Glen) Sharrer, Shawn (Scot) Wade, Dr. Chad (Dr. Nancy) Herrick, Michael Sauvageot and Jason (Alex) Thompson; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Mitchel Thompson, her daughter Kathy Ann, her parents, and sisters and brother-in-laws, Janet (Floyd) Myers and Margaret (Bill) Levering.
The family would like extend a special thanks to Kate, Shelley, Jonie and all the staff at Elmcroft of Ontario and also to Sarah, Angie and "the girls" at Harbor Light Hospice.
