Florence I. Lowe, 95, formerly of Apple Creek and Lake Harmony, Dalton, went home to be with her Lord on August 5 at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, where she was a resident since January of 2013.
Services will be at Living Water Free Methodist Church, 200 North Kurzen Road, Dalton on Wednesday, August 7, at 3 p.m. Friends may call one hour before the service. Graveside services will be held for the family at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Roberts Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Florence was born near Kidron on May 4, 1918 to Albert and Olive (Badertscher) Nussbaum. She married Roy Lowe Jr. on Dec. 26, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She is survived by three sons, Norman (Bonnie) Lowe of Dalton, Wayne (Nancy) Lowe of Conifer, Colorado; Walter (Linda) Lowe of Mansfield, and two daughters, Luanne (Rudy) Krimaschewicz of Orrville and Barbara (Ron) Houmard of Smithville. She has 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eunice Eggeman from Dalton, and many nephews and nieces.
Florence was active in the Orrville Christian and Missionary Alliance church, teaching Sunday school for many years. She and Roy were instrumental in starting the Living Water Free Methodist Church in Dalton. She was a discussion leader in the ladies' Bible Study Fellowship in Wadsworth and Wooster. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, and helped care for many elderly friends and neighbors. She enjoyed her family, her flower gardens, Christian music, especially hymns, and swimming at Lake Harmony. She was especially grateful to granddaughters Julie and Michelle Krimaschewicz who shared her home after Roy died.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brenn-Field Nursing Center and Hospice & Palliative Care of Wayne and Holmes Counties for their compassionate care. Thank you to all who faithfully visited her in the nursing home.
Donations can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 1515 Back Orrville Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691, in memory of Florence Lowe.
