Florence Geneva Smith, 95, of Melbourne, Florida, Passed away, surrounded by her loving family, August 23, 2016 at William Childs Hospice House, in Palm Bay, Florida.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Ashland County Memorial Park with Pastor Michael Koch officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Florence was born October 29, 1920 in Ashland, Ohio to John Clayton and Esther Mae {LaValley} Rogers.
She married Virgil Smith on December 25, 1938.
She worked in Restaurants in Cleveland, canvassing, Coat Factory in Ashland, Bakery, General Industries in Elyria, W.T. Grants Store in St. Petersburg, Florida and Harris Corporation in Palm Bay Florida
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Melbourne Florida. Florence had an extraordinary profound love of nature because she loved trees, clouds and the many things on God's green earth.
Florence will be deeply missed by her children Gerald Smith, Karen Hattesen, Joyce Erichson and Susan Morris; grandchildren Dean Smith, Michelle Page, Brett Smith, Marcie Fisher, Stacey Smith and Michael Morris; great-grandchildren Melanie Smith, Steven Smith, Nathaniel Maze, Lauren Maze, Tyler Page, Bailey Smith, Christine Herman, Ryan Fisher, Madison Fisher, Cameron Smith, Trevor Erichson, Nathaniel Erichson, Madison Lozano and Nicholas Lozano.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Leroy Smith, a brother Leon Clifford Rodgers, and a sister Dorothy Mae Rodgers Barerick.
