Florence "Jean" Roberts

Florence E. “Jean” Roberts, 94, of Wooster, went to the Lord with thanksgiving and great expectations Monday, September 13, 2021 at The Avenue, in Wooster.

Private interment services will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is handling arrangements.  Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohios Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster OH 44691.

Jean was born February 16, 1927 in Mount Carmel, IL to Charles and Gertrude {Woods} Horath.

Jean served as a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII. She married Charles Williams in 1944, he died in 1997. She then married Donald Roberts in 1998, he died in 2008.

Jean spent her life raising her children. She was an avid card player, reader, and coffee drinker. Jean loved people and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jean was a member of Central Christian Church and later Westhill Baptist Church, both of Wooster.

Jean will be deeply missed by her children Sheila (Roger) Greenawald of Reynoldsburg, Connie (Michael) Wilson and Charles Bruce (Shirley) Williams all of Wooster; step-children Shirley (Robert) Reynolds and Penny (Rick) Conard; grandchildren Barrett (Roberta) Greenawald, Nicolas Greenawald, Stacy (Steve) Legg, Christa (Scott) Haven, Eric (Aimee) Williams and Jessica (John) Holtcamp;

step-grandchildren Nicole Franks, Nathan Bailey, Megan Bailey, Scott Daugherty, and Matt Daugherty many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Williams and Donald Roberts, step-children Ingrid and Margot, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
