Forest “Sam” Starr, Sr., age 58, Chapel Rd., Jefferson, died Sunday evening at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he had been a patient the past two weeks.
He was born January 7, 1959 in Canton, the son of the late Forest R. & Nancy J. (Willaman) Starr and has resided in the Jefferson area since 1986, coming from Marietta. He was married to Linda M. Hall on August 15, 1980 in Winchester, VA. Sam was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a representative for AFLAC the past 35 years. His enjoyments were playing Texas Hold’em, fishing, woodworking and most of all, being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, two sons, Forest S. (Bekki) Starr, Jr. of Jefferson & Richard E. Starr of Roaming Shores, two grandchildren, Gabriel M. & Madelyn R. Starr, a brother, Allen (Dolores) Starr of Boynton Beach, FL, two sisters, Rose (Ron) Blocker of Gravette, AK & Angie Williams of Dexter City and his father-in-law, Harry Hall of Caldwell, who considered him as his own son.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 1:00 P. M. at the Roberts Funeral Home, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Burial to follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
