Frances Irene Beichler, 83, of Wooster, died Sunday, December 6, at LifeCare Hospice, in Wooster.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Home Baptist Church, 7605 Pleasant Home Road 44276, Sterling, OH 44276, with Pastors Stephen P. Olsen and Robert D. Fetterhoff officiating. She was born to William and Anna Lee on June 19, 1932 in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Sharon High School in Sharon Center Ohio and attended Cornus Hill Bible College in Akron Ohio. She married Paul R. Beichler on June 24, 1950. They lived in the Sterling and Creston area for many years, then retired to Smithville Western Commons in 2001.
As a longtime active member of the Wooster Grace Brethren Church and recently Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Smithville, she was always active in Christian ministry. She was involved in Christian Education for 35 years. She also served with her husband as missionaries with the American Missionary Fellowship in southern Ohio for nine years. She and her husband have been volunteers at the Smithville Western Care Center and Wayne Manor for 15 years, leading two Sunday morning services a month. They were also members of the Royal Volunteers for New Tribes Mission in Sanford Florida.
In 1999 they were nominated for the National Senior Medal of Ministry in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Surviving are husband Paul and three children: Steve (wife Judi) Beichler of Mechanicsburg, PA, Paula (husband Chris) Foy of Wooster, and Robyn Hage of Toledo. She leaves six grandchildren: Jennifer, Elizabeth, David, Matthew, Nathan, and Sara. She also leaves five great grandchildren: Nicole, Kate, Ethan, Abel, and Simon. Also surviving are three brothers: Serge (wife Pat) Lee of Jamestown OH, Jon (wife Char) Lee of Chippewa Lake, and Joe Lee of Tiffin, OH. Three surviving sisters include Rebecca (husband Larry) Kratzer of Marshallville OH, Bertha (husband Ken) Frost of Eustis FL, and Annabelle (husband Dave) Krejci of Wadsworth.
Her parents, brothers Loren and James, and sister Maureen preceded her in death.
