Frances Elizabeth Slota, 85, of Rittman, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Apostolic Christian Nursing Home.
Frances was born January 14, 1929 in Akron to Frank Silvester and Anna Isabel {Collins} Walsh.
Frances graduated from St. Mary's high school.
She married Paul Slota on April 24, 1954. He survives.
Frances was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wadsworth. Frances had a club with her childhood girlfriends, who met once a month for over 70 years. She loved to crochet and was famous for her Christmas stockings and blankets.
Frances will be deeply missed by her husband, Paul, of 60 years; children Carolyn (Jerry) Rooks of Wadsworth, Paul (Kathy) Slota of Westfield, Kevin (Lisa) Slota of Wadsworth, Jeannette (Marc) Willis of Norton and Rose (Bill) Edwards of Culpeper, VA; grandchildren Elizabeth, Stephanie, Brett, Jeremy, Chris, Nathan, Andrew, Mikayla, Christina, Jennifer, Laura, Bill and Kristen; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters Marilyn Smith and Kathleen (Bob) Schlaegel.
Frances was preceded in death by her sister Anna Steffee, brothers Raymond and Jerome Walsh.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr.
