Garland Amos, 93, of Wooster, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Glendora Health Care Center.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10 to 11a .m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Garden, where military rites will be held. Garland was born April 7, 1921 in Gilstrap, KY to Charles Porter and Vercie Elizabeth {Baize} Amos.
He served in the US Army in WWII.
Garland married Andrea Fay on November 27, 1979. She died in 1987.
He retired from Koch Engineering in 1996. He enjoyed playing Euchure at American Legion. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles, American Legion, Moose, AM Vets, VFW, Masonic Lodge.
Garland will be deeply missed by his; son Glenn (Ginger) Amos of Wooster; daughter Brenda Amos of Wooster; grandchildren Glenn Amos, Erica (Donald) Gilliam, Christopher, Anthony, Alex Amos; step-grandchildren Buddy A. (Buffy) Glassburn of Delaware and James (Crystal) Glassburn of Wooster; great-grandchildren Arrianna Amos, Alexis, JC, Camryn Glassburn of Wooster, Chase, Landon Glassburn of Delaware.
Garland was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea, brothers Earl Daye, Robert Amos, sisters Delores Daugherty, Lorene Franks, Inez Thomasetti.
