Gary Elton Vaughn, 74, of Medina, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Gary was born October 18, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elton Edward and Lila Louise {Thomas} Vaughn.
He married Martha Fekelman on July 25, 1964.
Gary worked for Medina County Highway Department for 37 years before retiring in 2003 and served on the Medina County Fair Board Committee for 16 years. Gary was a full time farmer, 4-H advisor, helping with many 4-H projects, he was on the Farm Service Committee, a member of Medina County Farm Bureau, and he also volunteered for the park district. Above all, Gary enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Gary will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years; children Tim Vaughn of Medina, Cara (John) Anderson of Medina, Carla Letz of Doylestown; grandchildren Lyndee (Zach) Burgett of Lattasburg, Dange Hoge of Medina, Taylor and Trent Vaughn of Montana, Trevor Letz of Doylestown; brother Tom Vaughn of Seville; sisters Karen (Guyles) Clifford of Medina and Jill (Gil) Travis of Norton.
Gary was preceded in death by his son Todd and his parents.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. with calling hours one hour prior at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Amstutz officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Medina County Park District Bench Fund, 6364 Deerview Lane, Medina, Ohio 44256.
