Gene Anderson

On July 21, 2018, Gene Thomas Anderson of Wadsworth, Ohio, was received by a world filled only with love. After surpassing all physical limitations and moving into a well-deserved state of everlasting beauty and peace, Gene may finally rest in the arms of The Lord.
Born on September 28th, 1928, in Stewart Co., Tennessee to Robert Lee Anderson (father) and Addie Estelle Mize (mother), Gene was the youngest of 9 children. As he grew, he chose to honorably dedicate his life to the Lord, family, friends, the United States Army, and plain ol’ hard work. Always in conjunction with one another, his authentic southern style skills, light-hearted charm, sense of humor, and honest values enabled him to be successful in all aspects of life.
After graduating from Stewart County High School and serving in the Army, Gene married Ethel (Bryant) June 19th, 1957 and moved to Wadsworth, Ohio to pursue his version of the American Dream. Pastimes that consumed Gene for the next 61 years included loving, laughing, and providing unconditional support for family and friends.  He worked in the HVAC manufacturing industry for over 40 years, retiring from York International in Medina, OH as plant manager.  He did personal home maintenance for himself and anyone who kindly requested that he lend a hand, meticulously up kept his lawn, gardened, did quality antique furniture refurbishment, and perfected the art of being a wonderful “Grampy.”
At the age of 89, Gene has been preceded in death by all immediate family (parents and siblings) with the exception of his lovely wife, Ethel Anderson, and their four children. Gene’s colorful spirit will continue to live on through Ethel and their children Cheryl Anderson, Lyn Anderson, Michele Delfs, and Michael Anderson (listed oldest to youngest), as well as grandchildren Nicole Delfs, Alyssa & Kyle Bowling, and Michaela and Jason Anderson.
Gene T. Anderson loved his family “a bushel and a peck” and will be missed tremendously. Services in remembrance of him will be held on July 25, 2018 and take place at Roberts Funeral Home of Wadsworth, Ohio, at 11 A.M. Friends may be received on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5-7 P.M.. In addition, in lieu of flowers, those who wish to support Gene’s legacy may generously donate any dollar amount of their choice to the Wadsworth Church of Christ, plant a seed and enjoy watching it grow, or even simply perform an act of kindness.
