George E. Legler, 94, of Wooster, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at West View Healthy Living, in Wooster.

George was born October 28, 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA to John and Anna {Achatz} Legler.
After graduating from Schenley High School in 1937, he worked as a railroad car repairman until enlisting. He was a corporal in the Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. After the war, George spent 35 years as a boiler and turbine repairman at the Duquesne Light Company where he helped install the Reactor Vessel Core at Shippingport Atomic Power Station.
He married Helen Alice (Dolly) Smith Gordon on August 6, 1955.
He attended St. Marys Church. He loved softball, bowling, and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
George will be deeply missed by his stepdaughter Judy (Frank) Hostnick of Wooster and a niece Lynda (Tom) Stiger and a nephew Tom (Darlene) Hennen of Pittsburgh.
George was preceded in death by his wife Helen, brothers Albert, John, Raymond, Valentine, and sisters Anne and Ruth.
