George Nelson Mellott, 70, of Burbank, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones, in Burbank.
Friends may call Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mr. Bernard Hosfeld officiating. George was born January 31, 1943 in Neffs, Ohio to George and Nellie Mellott.
He was a U.S. Army military policeman in Germany in the mid 60's.
George married Susan Mae Short on August 10, 1967. They have been married for 46 years.
He worked for Silver brother trucking for 40 years. George loved fishing and gardening.
George will be deeply missed by his wife Susan, children Jennifer Morgan, Lisa (Michael D.) Malcomb both of Wooster, Brian (Jessica) Mellott of Hilton Head, S.C., Dustin Mellott of Burbank, six grandchildren, brother Roger Mellott of Columbus and sister Eleanor Mellott of Cleveland.
George was preceded in death by his parents, son Joseph, brothers David, Paul, Bill and Bobby, sisters Martha, Virginia, Vivian, Mary and Linda.
