George Michalek

George Joseph Michalek, 91, formally of Wooster, OH passed away January 29, 2015 at Troy Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born September 1, 1923 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Joseph and Josephine Michalek.
George was a retired machinist from the former Rexroth and a master mechanic. A lover of antique cars especially Fords. He served in the US Army in World War II as a mechanic in the motor pool. He was Pres. of Stark Co. Model T Club,
Antique Automobile Club of America, Model T Club of America, Model T Club International. He belonged to the Grand Squares and Swing-A-Lings Square Dancing Clubs. He was Sec. of Rexroth retirees.
George was married to Ruth Ingerson June 13, 1943 in Port Huron, MI. (71 years of marriage)
Ruth survives along with their children, Nancy and Thomas Lowe, Troy, OH, David and Patsy Michalek, Bradenton, FL., Thomas Michalek, Wooster, OH.
His grand children and great-grand children: Timothy Lowe, Jeffersonville IN, Kathleen Lowe, Troy OH, Kimberly & John Glover & son Mason, Troy, OH. Jeannie Smith & son Christian, West Salem, OH. Step grandsons: Jason Polen & son Deacon, New Philadelphia, OH and Brian Polen, Smithville, OH. His brothers & sisters: Raymond & Helen Michalek, Sun City, Arizona, Betty Jane Updike, Greenville MI, Josephine Pollack, Greenville MI, Richard & Helen Michalek, Bucyrus OH, and Joseph & Victoria Michalek, Bedford OH. Along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Josephine.
Sister, Julia "Elsie" Christensen. Brother & sister in law, Michael & Sandra Michalek Brother in laws: Robert Christensen, William Updike, and Gordon Pollock. Grandson, Robert "Robbie" Michalek.
Friends may call Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 10 to 11 am at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home with Minister David Hill Jr. officiating. Burial will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
