Gertrude Stern of Marion, Ohio, died Thursday, December 06, 2012 in Wooster with her family by her side.
Gertrude was born September 7, 1926 in Syracuse, NY to Albert and Lillian {Sherman} Hamburg.
She graduated from Marion Harding High School, and then attended finishing school at Barbizon School in New York City. Gertrude married Julius Stern on March 18, 1956. They were married 47 years before his death on October 6, 2003. Gertrude worked with her husband in their home remodeling business, Better Homes Construction. She also worked in her family's business at Lords Jewelers.
Gertrude was an active member of the Temple Israel Sisterhood in Marion, and was an avid tennis player for over 40 years.
Gertrude will be deeply missed by her children Dr. Larry (Valarie Neely-Stern) Stern of Wooster, Kay Stern of San Francisco, CA; three granddaughters Shaleah Stern, Gabrielle and Michelle Stern; sister Evon Brower of Clearwater, FL.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband Julius and brother Lowell Hamburg.
