Gilbert Rowley

Gilbert Lester Rowley passed away at his home on October 30th, 2019. He was born in Wood County, WV on January 24th, 1943 to Herbert and Merle Rowley. He retired from RJF in Marietta, Ohio and The Army National Guard after 23 years of service. He enjoyed spending time at the Sandcastle campground with all his friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post 159 in Williamstown, WV for over 50 years where he enjoyed volunteering at all their various functions.
Gilbert is survived by his children Carol (Rueben) May, Mike Rowley and Stevie (Levi) Yoho ; step children Rick Hines, Randy (January) Hines, Scott Hines (deceased) and Steven Hines; two brothers and five sisters; two grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday November 2nd at 1pm at the American Legion Post 159 in Williamstown, WV.
Services will be Tuesday November 5th at 2pm at Roberts Funeral Home, 27890 State Route 7, Marietta, OH 45740 where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com
