Gladys Turner

Gladys R. (Strickland) Turner, 80, of Wooster, died Monday, August 30, 2021, at Rose Lane Nursing Home, in Massillon.

Memorial Services will be announced at Roberts Funeral Home Friday, September 17, 2021 at 1pm with Bishop Andrae Maze officiating.

Gladys was born October 15, 1940, in Sullivan, WV to Rev. W. P. and Gertrude {Martin} Strickland.

Gladys retired from Rubbermaid. She was assistant pastor to Covenant Ministries in Wooster. Gladys was an avid churchgoer. She also liked to crochet and loved spoiling her grandbabies.

Gladys will be deeply missed by her children Juanetta Romaine of Wooster and Lana Meshawn (Donald) Turner-Sewell of California; her grandchildren Juan (Mary Kate) Howard, Branden Howard, Tavon Cannady, Taylor Turner, Tanai Cannady, and Terrell Turner; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Gloria Wagner and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Yolanda L. Turner, brothers William P. Strickland Jr., Robert Lewis “Buddie” Strickland, Arthur M. Strickland, as well as her sisters Alberta Conrad, Mazie Tarpley, and Reatha Mae Morris.
