Glenda Lea Ripley, 82, of Wadsworth, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, in Fairlawn.
Glenda was born September 26, 1941 in Akron, Ohio to Denver and Novis {McDonald} Hartman.
Glenda graduated from Norton High School in 1959.
She married Carson E. Ripley on December 4, 1960. He died September 12, 2017.
In her early years, she worked for Jimbos in Norton. Glenda loved taking care of her family as a homemaker. She helped organize Girl Scout Troops in the Wadsworth area. She enjoyed traveling with her family and has explored 48 states throughout her lifetime. She also enjoyed going to concerts, movies, and going out to eat. Glenda loved telling the story of her first time on an airplane at 78 years old to Disney World with her granddaughter.
Glenda will be deeply missed by her daughter Viann Emery; granddaughter Jessica; brother Richard (Dee) Hartman; niece Sandy Hartman; great nephews Denver and Angus; and great niece Katie.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years, brother Bill, sisters Joan, Shirley, and Jean.
Burial has taken place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. The family would like to thank the staff at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, especially Dr. Brian Griffin and her family Dr. Matthew Finneran of over 30 years.
