Grace Isabelle Perkins 92, of Wadsworth, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Altercare, in Wadsworth.
She was born November 30, 1921 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Edward and Icey {Shook} Lesher.
She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1939. She frequently met with classmates.
She worked at her uncle's shoe store after school and Saturdays. She then worked at Joe Bender's restaurant and then worked as a stitcher operator at Ohio Match Company. She married Everett (Perk) F. Perkins on August 18, 1943 after he served in the Army Air Corp. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wadsworth. She was active in PTA, 4-H, Eastern Stars, Meals on Wheels, and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing BINGO, and taking photographs.
Grace will be deeply missed by her children Sandra (Steve) Bell of Shelby, Karen Sue (John) Sharkey of Wadsworth, and Michael of Wadsworth
; Grandchildren Wendy (Todd) Nicodemus of Wadsworth, Jackie (Dan) Grinstead of North Carolina, Stacy (Todd) Weatherbie of Shelby
; Great-grandchildren Samuel and Ian Nicodemus, Christopher, Benjamin and Alexis Grinstead, Isabella, Malia, and Ava Weatherbie.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Everett of 64 years and her sister Doris Welty.
Friends may call Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Ann Painter officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
