Harold "Chip" Byron Magers

Harold “Chip” Byron Magers, 66, of Dalton, died July 5, 2024, at Aultman Hospital, in Canton, Ohio.

Chip was born March 28, 1958, in Massillon, Ohio to Harold and Marie {Welsch} Magers.

Chip graduated from Jackson High School in 1976 and was involved in the NJROTC program. He then graduated from Aviation School in 1978 in St. Pete, Florida. He was then employed at Lawrence Aviation in Canton, Ohio, following that he was employed at G-Force Aviation in Canton, Ohio from 1999-2009. Chip was the employed at Wooster Airport until his most recent employment running the Retail Maintenance Department at Castle Aviation in Canton starting July 5, 2016.

He married Bonnie Kirk on September 4, 2005. 

Chip loved Golf, Pool, Fishing, Hunting, Camping, Ohio Brittany Club, spending time with his wife while on vacation, and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends on the lake. 

Chip will be deeply missed by his wife Bonnie; children Kiera (Keith) Bouscher, Heather (Thomas) Maddern and stepdaughters Carla and Jaime Daugherty; grandchildren Zachary, Jessica, Sierra, Julieanna, Justin, Korey, Ryley, Layla; great-grandchildren Zachary, Antonio; sisters Judy Bixler, Sharon Miller and Michele (Scott) Williams

Chip was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Christa Potts, Niece Trisha Bixler and his Nephew Zachary Williams.

Friends may call Thursday July 11, 2024 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Harold-Magers) with Retired Minister Scott Williams officiating. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses for the family.
