Harold "Butch" Riley, Sr., 63, of Marietta, Ohio, peacefully passed away Monday, April 4th, 2016 at 9:45 A.M. at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 15, 1953 in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late James Riley, Sr. and Helen Gay Lilly.
Butch attended Marietta High School. He worked at a local plant for 43 years before retiring. Butch enjoyed working in his garage and woodworking, building shelves, clocks and lamps.
He is survived by his wife Shirley of 41 years, son Harold "Buddy" (wife Brandy) Riley, Jr.; two daughters Sara Strahler and Jena Riley; 10 grandchildren: Maria, Megan and April Riley; Bradley, Aaron and Ryan Gill; and Hannah, Ethan, Luke and Logan Hartshorn; sisters Kitty Riley, Margaret Sayger and Naomi Currey; brothers James Riley II and Michael Riley. Harold leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by those he left behind.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister Donna Riley and brother Donald Riley, Sr.
A time of gathering will be held on Thursday, April 7th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home – East Lawn Chapel, 27880 SR 7, Marietta 45750. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rainbow Cemetery.
