Harold Steed

Harold "Gene" Eugene Steed, 82, of Reno went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at his residence in Reno.
Harold was born February 4, 1932 in Marietta, Ohio, a son of the late Harold Austin and Delta Beatrice {Morey} Steed.
He married Loretta Mae Carver on July 3, 1950. After 56 years together, she passed away on July 20, 2006.
Harold worked for the Marietta State Forest Nursery for over 30 years and retired in 1988. He attended First Baptist Church in Williamstown, WV. Harold absolutely loves his family and his first wife Loretta. He never met a stranger. Harold enjoyed social activities, feeding the birds and fishing.
Harold will be deeply missed by; children Diana (Pat) Stoneking, Cindy (Mike) Sprague, Perry (Kim) Steed and Andy (Mel) Steed all of Reno; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Tom (Pat) Steed; sister Norma Turner both of Michigan and fiancé Barbara Barth of Marietta.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Loretta of 56 years, grandchildren Steven and Brian Stoneking, great-grandchildren Gabe Sprague, Brennen and Collin Crossin, Sisters Annabelle Wiseman, Barb Morse and Marilyn Weston.
Friends may call Thursday, May 29, 2014 6-8 p.m. and at First Baptist Church, 431 Highland Ave., Williamstown, WV, 26187. Funeral services will be Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Tony Foreman officiating. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service from 10-11 A.M. at the church. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park, Marietta, OH. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Marietta Home Health and Hospice, 450 Pike Street, Suite I1, Marietta, Ohio, 45750 and Reno Volunteer Fire Department, 250 Cornerville Road, Marietta, Ohio, 45750.
