Helen R. Martine, 80, of Wooster, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home–Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice at 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
Helen was born February 26, 1934 in West Virginia to Ezra and Inez {Lively} Hodge.
She married Richard Martine on December 19, 1952.
Helen graduated with a bachelor degree in education from Kent State University.
Helen was a teacher at Wooster Township Elementary for over 30 years. She attended Trinity United Church of Christ. Helen enjoyed gardening, reading and working on puzzles. She loved to spend time at home with her husband and family.
Helen will be deeply missed by her husband, Richard, of 62 years; children Rick (Karen) Martine and Karen (Chuck) Fetzer; grandchildren Renee (J.D. Hershberger) Mohler, Justin (Danielle) Martine, Larry (Tiffany) Clay and Caitlin (Jason Charette) Martine; great-grandchildren Natalie, Kinsey, Alex, Hailey and Dylan; brother William (Dottie) Hodge; sister Mary Massey; many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Edna Browning and niece Deann Miller.
