Helen Smith

Helen Eileen Smith, 72, of Fredericktown, died Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Wexner Medical Center, in Columbus, Ohio.

Helen was born November 7, 1946 in Zanesville to Alexander and Zella {Clapper} Wilson.

She graduated from Zanesville High School in 1964, then attended Hocking Tech for her nursing degree.

Helen married Robert Smith in October of 1982. He passed away in 1991.

She retired from Morrow County Hospital, and was also employed at the MVDC, and OSU.   Helen was an avid bowler, quilter, and had a posse of quilting friends!  She was a cheerful giver who loved to bake sweets, and she continued giving even after her death with organ donation.

Helen will be deeply missed by her children Patricia (Eugene) Patete of Mount Vernon, April (Edward) Stegner of Beverly, Ohio, Angela (Jeff) Mizer of Fredericktown, Paul (Sandra) Kincaid of Beverly, Ohio, and Jennifer (Rob) Wolfe of Mount Vernon; grandchildren Ty, Ganae, Terrance, Todd, Troy, Katrina, Sommer, Shaina, Tina, and Caitlin;  and several great-grandchildren

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Friends may call Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Iram White officiating. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
