H. Bradley Alloway, 96, formerly of Glenwood, died Wednesday, July 17 at Primrose Retirement Community, in Zanesville.
Bradley was born April 30, 1928, in New Matamoras, Ohio to Charles and Kathinka {Kollman} Alloway.
He attended New Matamoras High School.
Bradley married Jean LaRue Bowser on June 26, 1948. She passed away in 2024. They were married 75 years.
He was a truck driver, proudly worked alongside his father sharing a company operating drilling machines for oil and water in New Matamoras, finally working for Sand & Gravel of New Martinsville for 20 years until his retirement in 1992. Following his retirement, he went to work for Price Inland Terminal for 17 years, then for Hasley’s Lumber Yard and Steve Westfall Construction. Bradley was a member of Center Valley Church and enjoyed gardening and traveling. But work was truly Bradley’s hobby.
Bradley will be deeply missed by his children Steven (Cheryl) Alloway and Patricia (Don) D’Angelo, 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother Charles (Ingrid) Alloway; sisters Joan (Earl) Smith, and Amanda Merckle.
Bradley was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, sister Carolyn Hayes and brother Neal Alloway.
Friends may call Thursday, July 25 from 10 am to noon at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, Marietta. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Dave Michaels officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. Following the burial, friends may gather at Comfort Inn on Cherry Tree Lane. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
