Horst Gerhard "Hoss" Sender, 70, of Wooster, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at West View Healthy Living after a short battle with cancer.
Cremation has taken place at Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster who is assisting the family with arrangements. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Horst was born January 17, 1947 in Shwerin, Munzstrabe, Germany to Behordenangesteller Gerhard Emil Hans and Elfriede Paula {Minna} Sender. He moved to the United States on March 17, 1967.
He married his loving wife Mabel R. Denny on June 1, 1985. She passed on July 17, 1998.
Horst retired from West View Healthy Living after 19 years of service. He was known for his famous barbeque sauce and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and beloved dog, Tanner.
Horst will be deeply missed by his niece Vicki (Dale) Gallapoo of Wooster; stepdaughters Cindy (Ralph) Moore of McArthur, Ohio and Tina (Jeff) Harr of Orient, Ohio; step grandchildren Makayla Harr, Onaka Moore, Amanda "Myndiee" Gundrum and Angie Moore; brother-in-law Dale Denny of Wooster; sister-in-law Betty (Gordon) Saunders of Wooster; a very close family friend Nathan Vanfossen.
Horst was preceded in death by his wife Mabel.
