Howard C. Edwards, 78, of Millersburg, died Thursday March 7, 2013 at Community Hospice, in New Philadelphia.
Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Monday at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Craycraft officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, or to Millersburg Christian Church, 125 N. Clay St., Millersburg, Ohio 44654.
Howard was born July 11, 1934 in Delbarton, West Virginia to Carl and Goldie {Powers} Edwards.
He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Lebanon Crisis.
Howard married Evelyn Hatfield on November 27, 1959.
He worked for General Motors as a supervisor for 39 years. He was a member of the Millersburg Christian Church. He was a past master of the Medina Masonic Lodge. Howard was a skillful mechanic, loved the outdoors, enjoyed bluegrass music, and the Amish Community.
Howard will be deeply missed by his wife; children Lisa Edwards of Olmsted Falls, Holly (David) Kitko of Homerville; sisters Carol (Phillip) Grimmette, Joyce (David) Kirk of Michigan.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Edwards; sister Marie Hess, Irene Edwards.
