On Oct. 17, 2019, our mother, Imogene Picklesimer, went home to be with her Heavenly Father.
She was born Sept. 25, 1942 to Alnie and Ora Chapman in Des Moines, Iowa. On Nov. 18, 1961, she married the love of her life, Bob Picklesimer.
Our Mom was an excellent example of what a godly Christian woman should be. Growing up, we always saw her reading her Bible and praying to her Heavenly Father.
Mom was a member of Wooster Nazarene for 51 years. She served in many areas, helping with children through youth, the bus ministry, Bible Quizzing, and served as a Sunday School teacher, Junior Church leader and youth group leader.
In 1982, God called our Dad to start a Cowboys for Christ chapter in our area. Mom was in full agreement, and soon after, started having monthly Bible studies in their home, and traveled to provide church services on Sunday mornings. They traveled all over, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to different horse associations. She loved riding horses, motorcycles and snowmobiles. She also was employed by the Wooster Brush Company for 27 years.
Mom was the youngest of eight children. Siblings surviving include Phil (Joyce) Chapman, Roy (Laura) Chapman and Phyllis Spencer.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bob; children, Linda (Mike) Gaumer, Rob (Cindy) Picklesimer and Kim (Jon) Herman; and grandchildren, Kyle and Brittany Picklesimer, Tyler Picklesimer, Seth Kindleberger, Janelle Gaumer, Matthew and Jason Herman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alnie and Ora Chapman; brothers Glen and Al Chapman; sisters Doris Claude and Dee Troxell; and a great-grandchild, Isaiah William Picklesimer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
