Iola Marie Elliott, 93, of Wooster, died Wednesday, February 03, 2016 at Westview Healthy Living.
Friends may call Monday from 10 to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Monday at 12pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Donors Choice in lieu of flowers.
Iola was born July 20, 1922 in Wooster to George and Sarah {Strock} Yarnell.
She was a graduate of Creston High School. Iola married Donald J. Elliott December 13, 1942. She was involved with the choir and bell choir at the Church of the Cross. She was a 68 year member of the Union Grange and held offices at state level for the Ohio State Grange and National Grange.
Iola retired from working for the Wooster City Schools and also enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Iola will be deeply missed by her children Lola and David Wertz of Orrville, Cheryl Prost of Shreve and John and Jan Elliott of Wooster; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers James Yarnell of Holiday Florida and Richard Yarnell of Wooster.
Iola was preceded in death by her husband Donald, daughter Donna, brothers Robert and Donald, and son in law Dewey Prost.
