Irene Rella Carpenter, 85, of Medina, died April 14, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Travis McKenzie officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Irene was born October 18, 1930 in Webster Springs, West Virginia to Willie and Clora {Thomas} Cogar.
She married James Carpenter on January 10, 1948. He passed away on May 5, 2002.
Irene worked at Permold Inc. for 27 years before retiring. She was a member of the Canaan Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irene will be deeply missed by her children Roy (Barbara) Carpenter, Sharon (Larry) Hamrick, Mike (Susan) Carpenter all of Medina, Larry (Theresa) Carpenter of Cornish New Hampshire, Susan (Mark) Faunce, and Son-in-law Steve Ramsier of Millersburg; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her loving husband James, parents and youngest daughter Brenda Ramsier. Her brothers and sisters, Floyd Cogar, Erma Clevenger, Ida Brady, Carl Cogar, Fred Cogar, Clyde Cogar, Elmer Cogar, Clint Cogar also precedes her in death.
